  • Community Action Partnership Hillsborough & Rockingham Counties — Head Start & Early Head Start

    Head Start and Early Head Start (formerly run as Southern New Hampshire Services) for eligible families, with centres in Derry, Hillsborough, Manchester, Nashua, Raymond and Seabrook and wrap-around full-day care at some sites. Apply in person, by phone or start online; screenings, meals and support for children with disabilities are included.

  • Community Action Partnership of Strafford County — Head Start & Early Head Start

    Head Start and Early Head Start for Strafford County children from birth (and prenatal, through home visiting) to age 5: classroom programs plus weekly home visits using Parents as Teachers and Partners for a Healthy Baby, with family advocates, disability and mental-health support.

    Emergency help with rent, mortgage and utility bills from the Salvation Army's Northern New England Division (Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont), whose local corps, such as Berlin and Concord, assess each family's needs.

Food Programs

  • Families in Transition — Food Pantry

    Grocery-style food pantry in Manchester where individuals and families can shop every 30 days for non-perishables, meats and, when available, fresh produce and bakery items. Hours: Monday 1–4 pm, Tuesday–Friday 10 am–noon.

  • Gather — Pantry Market

    Free grocery-style pantry in Portsmouth: staples, fresh produce, proteins and dairy, plus baby care and personal items when in stock. Open to people who live or work in New Hampshire or Maine; Monday–Thursday 10 am–4 pm, Friday 10 am–2 pm. Mobile markets also serve Seacoast communities.

    Community health centre with four Manchester locations: primary care, women's health, prenatal care (with Dartmouth Health, delivering at Elliot Hospital), and care for children and teens at the Dr. Selma Deitch Center. Free breast and cervical cancer screening help for uninsured patients.

  • Lamprey Health Care

    Community health centre with primary care, pediatrics, and women's health and prenatal care in Newmarket, Nashua (22 Prospect St, 603-883-1626) and Raymond (128 Route 27, 603-895-3351), plus mobile health. A Financial Assistance Card gives sliding-fee discounts to patients without insurance.

    Low-barrier overnight emergency shelter for young adults ages 18–24 experiencing homelessness, at 298 Hanover Street in downtown Manchester, with housing programs and supportive services for homeless youth.

Transportation

  • Family Promise of Greater Concord — Prevention & Diversion

    Helps Greater Concord families stay housed or avoid shelter: rental assistance and security deposits, payments for rent in arrears, and transportation assistance (gas cards and vehicle repairs). Day Center open Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm.
